Our first story

The Night of Freedom
Bandi Chhor Divas

On a night when Amritsar glows with lamps, a child asks a grandfather what the lights mean. The answer is a story remembered by Sikhs for more than four hundred years: Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji's release from Gwalior Fort, and the fifty-two captives whose freedom he would not leave behind.

It is a story about a simple, demanding idea: freedom is not complete while it is kept for oneself.

We want a Sikh child to enjoy these stories without having to forgive avoidable mistakes. That shapes every decision.

Sikh children first

Names, terms and pronunciation come from within the tradition. Punjabi leads, with Hindi and English to follow. Every family is welcome to watch along.

History told honestly

We keep documented history, treasured tradition and open questions clearly separate, so children learn the difference rather than a blur of certainty.

Made with care and review

The Gurus are honoured, never animated or voiced. Our work is reviewed with Sikh advisers, parents and educators before anything is released.
